Technical Manager
A key leadership vacancy forming a pivotal part of the site leadership team, reporting to the site director. This role will directly manage and lead the technical, quality and hygiene teams. The incumbent will ensure the creation of a compelling vision and technical strategy aligned to business and group priorities, ahead of market competition, that empowers people to deliver the strategy and ensures that the technical policies and procedures comply with and focus on food safety, legality, quality and hygiene. The role takes responsibility for a very broad range of cross functional influence across the site, to ensure that the highest standards of food safety of our products and processes are maintained and improved.Key AccountabilitiesOverall responsibility for the site’s technical objectives with a focus to drive food safety; legality; raw material and product quality; customer, product and hygiene standards. Specification Technologist
Specification Technologist, your key focus will be to ensure that all customer specifications, pack copies and artwork are accurately set up and maintained. You will ensure that all necessary customer documentation is produced to meet critical path timescales and launch deadlines.The role of Specification Technologist is varied, and no two days are the same.You will be responsible for reviewing artwork against pack copy information to ensure the information is accurate and also in line with customer technical labelling policies.You will be in regular communication with the customer, providing updates on projects and handling any specification or artwork queries that arise.You will also get involved in the writing of raw material specifications and internal factory specifications.What we’re looking forSomeone with experience of working within a similar role within food manufacturing and have knowledge of writing specifications for retailers.Strong communication skills who will be comfortable in dealing with a wide range of people at all levels, internal and external.Someone who is able to use multiple customer specification systems (Tesco and M&S).Someone comfortable managing multiple tasks and delivering results against strict deadlines.The ability to transfer data accurately and clearly within the specification from information provided.Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and be IT literate.Competent in Microsoft Packages - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePointFood and drink labelling regulation knowledge.
