Job description

This role is an excellent opportunity for a driven and motivated H&S Professional with a forward-facing approach in driving a positive safety culture.

Key Accountabilities

  • To contribute to the short, medium and long term development objectives.

  • Environmental, H&S Policy & Risk Management

  • Support the site Head of Operations & other key stake holders to ensure the organisation meets its statutory obligations in all H&S and Environmental areas and the fostering of a safe workplace environment without risk to health.

  • Support the development, implementation and adherence to H&S Risk Control Standards, H&S policies, procedures and programmes across the organisation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the Site Environmental Health and safety System.

  • Responsible for the completion and regular review of risk assessments and implementation of findings where appropriate.

  • Ensure that all incidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.

  • Responsible for the H&S logs and Corrective action tracking. Support and co-ordinate adverse event reporting.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to the organisation on various H&S related topics.

  • Report on business EHS risks, KPIs and trends accurately with data and recommend constructive actions towards continuous improvements.

  • Carries out internal audits and site inspections in conjunction with Site Management, recommends corrective actions, improvements and document findings.

  • Manage the waste regulatory aspects of production

Skills and Experience Required

  • A degree in a Health and Safety.

  • Experience in Occupational Health and Safety and Environment.

  • A minimum of two years’ experience working in a heavy industry or food manufacturing environment

  • Excellent attention to detail, technical writing skills and good working knowledge of MS Office.

  • Working knowledge of factors impacting on health and well-being and of H&S regulatory compliance including auditing

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
